About Compton Hospice
A place to find shelter on the most difficult part of life’s journey — offering a helping hand, a listening ear, and the caring support of people who understand.
Compton Hospice has been providing the best in palliative care to patients facing a life-limiting illness, and their families, for more than a quarter-of-a-century.
Our purpose is to make a difference to people’s lives when their illness is no longer curable, adding life to years rather than years to life.
We do this by treating the people, not just their conditions, through our in- patient and community care facilities, medical and holistic treatments and support services.
Our philosophy is to support our patients emotionally, psychologically and spiritually, as well as easing their physical symptoms, to help them live fulfilling lives at home for as long as possible.
Although end of life care remains an important part of what we do, we offer so much more and can make real improvements to our patients’ quality of life, and that of their families, so they can make the most of their time together.
Our services are available free-of-charge to a catchment area of 1.3 million people from communities across the Black Country, including Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire.
This website aims to give you an insight into our organisation and the services we offer to our patients and visitors.
It details how we raise funds to maintain and improve those services and gives plenty of ideas of how you can get involved and help.
It also shows how we are shaping palliative care for the future, sharing our knowledge with other healthcare professionals through our education department.
