Meet Our Fundraisers
Sue has spent over 20 years in a fundraising environment within both local and national charities. Having worked as an Area Retail Manager for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund for seven years, she moved to Compton in 1997 to act as General Manager to the trading company. Under her leadership, the shops operation has had great success, culminating in three successive national awards for financial achievement. In April 2008, Sue was promoted to oversee both fundraising and trading operations within the hospice, as well as taking overall responsibility for public relations functions.
Diane has been a member of the team since 2003. She is responsible for the general running of the office; enquiries, banking & thanking and managing the fundraising office volunteers.
Jackie joined the team in 2007. She provides admin support to the head of fundraising and helps with all the special thank you letters we like to send out to our supporters.
Prior to joining Compton, Jackie has worked in the retail sector. Hello!
Michelle joined the team in January 2006. She specialises in organising our hospice fundraising events, such as the overseas and weekend challenges, all running events including the London and Wolverhampton Marathon, skydives and anything that includes some form of physical exertion.
Michelle spent nine years in the Armed Forces, after which she worked as an IT engineer before deciding on a change of career and coming to the hospice.
Sally Woods joined the fundraising team in June 2005. She is here to help support members of the public with their own fundraising, as well as organising store collections.
Prior to joining Compton, Sally spent her career working within the business sector, mainly managing exports into Europe, and is using the skills she gained in organising and liaising to boost fund-raising activities.
Simon joined the fundraising department in April 2007, having previously worked as a diversional therapist in the hospice’s day unit.
He is responsible for the Payroll Giving scheme at Compton and is also involved in the organising of events, building links with local schools and various other fundraising activities. He is also a fantastic tea maker!
Suzanne joined Compton Hospice as a ward volunteer in 1998 whilst studying for a theology degree. She found the fundraising department to be of such interest, that she did a six week placement and is still here nine years later.
In 2000, Suzanne was taken on as a full time member of the team as a community fundraiser and has since been promoted to to senior fundraiser, which incorporates raising funds from Charitable Trusts and Philanthropic Organisations.
