Andy the Brave!

Andy the Brave!

On the first anniversary of his Aunty Mary’s passing, brave Andy Bryce chose to thank Compton Hospice for the care given, by completing a sponsored tandem skydive. Andy turned out at Tilstock Airfield, Whitchurch on 8th July 2006. Here is Andy’s story:

“After a short wait I was kitted up for the jump and collected by a very small aeroplane. I climb aboard, was promptly clipped to my instructor and a few wise cracks later found myself hurtling along the runway. The incline was an experience in its self, watching everything get smaller and the view get bigger. Finally we were at 10,500 feet clouds obscuring the view. Then it came, the time which I had been nervous about all morning, the door flung open and the engine roared. My instructor eased me to the edge of the plane and before I knew it we were making holes though the clouds like polo mints. We had to free fall for about 30 seconds then suddenly the parachute opened and we were on our way back up. Everything soon changed and we started to gently glide towards the earth, it seemed a long time coming down but soon the cheering got louder. “

As do Compton Hospice, Andy would like to thank all who sponsored his skydive for their support.
