Base camp cyclists
During 3rd April to 1st May two brave cyclists from Sedgley took on their challenge of a lifetime and raised funds for Compton Hospice in the process.
Pat and Keith Green, both in their sixties joined eleven other cyclists aged between 25 and 65 for a grueling 629 mile trip across Nepal, taking in Everest Base Camp.
The months of training, planning and preparation, paid off when they had to encounter rocky dirt tracks, high altitude and off road cycling. The route took them from deep valleys, over high mountain passes and through tiny hillside village communities.
“The cycling was really hard work but our rewards were far greater” commented Pat

“The views were outstanding, it certainly was a beautiful country and knowing that we were doing it for Compton Hospice made all of the aches and pains worthwhile”
she added
“I can’t wait for the next trip, this challenge has definitely given me the bug.”
Compton Hospice would like to congratulate and to thank Pat & Keith for raising £1155.
