Biker Bash brings in £2000
In August The Royal Oak Rejects held their annual rally, the Burning of the Badge, at Alverley, again in aid of Compton Hospice.
After three days activities they raised a staggering £1700 but being typical bikers thay decided that this wasn't enough.
Last week a special quiz night was held at their now weekly meeting place, The Mount Pleasant Pub in Wombourne in an effort to reach the magical £2000. The quiz night was attended by many of the bikers along with the Monday night regular quizzers and raised a further £150 to the pot.
Mark Cleary, a Director of Wombourne based company Network Utilities, rounded up a very successful and enjoyable evening by donating a cheque for the remaining £150.
Compton Hospice would like to thank the Royal Oak Rejects, Mark Cleary and Jim Gogarty, the landlord of The Mount Pleasant for their generosity and support.
