Compton Chicks get Hydro Active!
More than 30 women turned out to support Compton Hospice in The Hydro Active Women’s Challenge. The event, held in Birmingham Centenary Square on 3rd September 2006, was organised by the promoters of The London Marathon, and was originally called The Flora Lite. Compton’s team was one among many who made up the 2000 participants running, jogging and walking in this all women’s race. Michelle Price, Community Fundraiser at Compton Hospice says: “There are many women who do not feel comfortable exercising in front of men and this event is perfect for those women. We have tried to encourage women of all age, size and fitness ability to join us this year, and have had an amazing turn out. The ladies have thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and have found it is not just men that can form camaraderie between their team.”
