FA Cup kicks off fundraising

Two charities will kick off a fundraising drive over Easter offering footie fans the chance to be photographed with the FA Cup.

For a £5 donation, individuals or groups can be pictured with the coveted trophy, with all proceeds being split between Compton Hospice in Wolverhampton and The National Alzheimers’ Society.

Day Unit patients at the hospice were the first to get their hands on the prize, before it was whisked away to different locations across the region.

The Cup will first appear at Hamstead Social Club, Old Walsall Road, Great Barr on Good Friday between 4pm and 10pm before travelling to Hawkins Social Club in Coppice Lane, Cheslyn Hay on Bank Holiday Monday between 2pm and 6pm.

Supporters of all teams are invited to turn up wearing their club’s strip for this once in a lifetime opportunity.

A photographer will be available at each venue, but fans can also bring their own cameras to capture the moment.
