Fitness Frenzy Benefits Compton
A local sports superstore decided to capitalize on the January rush for fitness equipment in more ways than one by raffling an exercise bike and raising money for Compton Hospice as well.
JJB Sports in Stafford Street, Wolverhampton organized the raffle after an exercise bike was donated by their Head Office.
The Store Manager, Mr Chris Jones, said “We chose to support Compton Hospice as it is a local charity. I have experienced the support that the hospice provides as my Dad was looked after by them in May 2006. I have wanted to do something for a long time and as Head Office were helping out, this was the ideal opportunity”.
The raffle was drawn on February 3rd and the exercise bike was won by Mr Renford Morris of Whitmore Reans, who was delighted to have won the prize and supported his local hospice.
Sally Woods, Community Fundraiser said “ A total of £502 was raised from the raffle. We are grateful to JJB Head Office for donating the prize and to Chris for organizing the raffle and raising such a great sum of money in a short space of time.”
