Golden-hearted couple show support with anniversary donations

Barry and Brenda Pincher of Tipton showed they had hearts of gold when celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on 9th December by supporting Compton Hospice through their gift list.

They celebrated in style with a party for family and friends which took eighteen months to plan, but decided that instead of presents they would ask guests to donate to Compton Hospice, where they knew their greatest gift would be to help support those with a life limiting illness.

Their son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Kim Pincher, said Barry and Brenda were amongst the kindest and loveliest people they knew and this gesture was typical of their good nature.  Kim added she couldn’t have wished for better parents-in-law.

This feeling was echoed by all those who attended the party and made a donation using a hospice donation envelope, raising the fantastic amount of £653.00 which will increase once gift aid is claimed.

Suzanne Davies, fundraiser at the hospice said: “We are so grateful to Mr & Mrs Pincher for sharing their golden wedding anniversary with us, it really was thoughtful and I’m also very pleased that they had such a wonderful time at their party”
