Hair, Flare and Designer Wear!
The award winning stylists, colour technicians and beauty therapists of The Coach House chose a novel way to launch their new salon by holding a hair and fashion show in aid of Compton Hospice. The event, held on the 13th December, was like no other fashion show as the catwalk models were dressed in clothes supplied by our Compton Charity Shop based in School Street, Wolverhampton.
Organisers Steve and Alison Clewlow, and Daniel Blakemore who have recently moved to their new premises in Tettenhall, chose selected guests for their invitation only bash, held at the Walkabout Inn, Wolverhampton, and raised £423 for locally based Compton. “We are aware that there is some sort of stigma attached to charity shop clothes and we wanted to demonstrate that fashionable items can be found in these shops and that people can look cool in them,” said Daniel, stylist at the salon. “With our move we also thought that this would be a great way to build up a relationship with our new neighbours and put something back into the community.”
