For several years now members of the public have been taking part in The Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon to raise money for Compton Hospice, and this year was no exception.

Twenty three participants took to the streets of Wolverhampton to compete in the marathon, half marathon, half marathon relay challenge and 15k cycle ride in aid of the hospice.

One such runner was 4 year old Dylan Cartwright, who raised £100 by taking part in the children’s mini marathon as the hospice’s youngest ever runner. He completed the 2.62 km run in 22 minutes, proving that the 2 months of training at 8am on a Sunday morning had paid off.

After realising that the sponsorship money wasn’t to buy a new Dr Who toy, Dylan, who’s God Mothers Dad had been supported by Compton 2 years ago, came to the day unit to present the money.

Compton Hospice is expecting to raise approximately £2500 from this year’s event and would like to thank all who have taken part.
