Pedal pushers get wheels in motion for fundraiser

The Rotary Club of Wolverhampton St. George's are using pedal power to raise much needed sponsorship for Compton Hospice in a two-day bikeathon.

They hope to keep the wheels in motion on a static exercise bike for 24 hours  over two days on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th March, 2012.

A static bike will be positioned in the foyer at the Goldthorn Hotel, Penn Road from 10am - 10pm each day and the Rotary Club are filling half-hour slots with energetic supporters.

Money raised will boost the Rotary Club's funds towards a £60,000 'Rotary Suite', helping to pay for one of the refurbished private bedrooms within the hospice's transformed in-patient unit.

The club are appealing for any keen cyclists who want to jump on board and get involved to contact them.
