Shoppers Support Rotary Charity
The Rotary Club of Albrighton raised an amazing £2700 when generous shoppers extended the season of goodwill and reached deep in to their pockets, again showing the generous nature of Wolverhampton people. Vice President of the club, Ray Vye, who is due to take over the Presidency of the club from Dennis Lovering this July, organised collection days at a Wolverhampton supermarket and garden centre to raise funds for their three charities of the year.
One charity that benefited from the fundraising was Compton Hospice who received a cheque for £922.10.
“The club raised an outstanding amount over the four days, we are very appreciative of their donation and also very intrigued to find out what their secret is when it comes to store collecting,” commented Tracy Marsh, Head of Fundraising for Compton Hospice “We have been carrying out store collections for a number of years now and have found it increasingly difficult to recruit volunteers willing to man the days, we would welcome anyone with a few spare hours each month who could help us out.”
