Swimmers pool their skills for Compton Hospice

Wolverhampton Swimming Club, based at Central Baths in Wolverhampton, recently completed a Sponsored Swim, and raised £250 for Compton Hospice.

Peter Robinson, from the Swimming Club, explained “We try to do a sponsored event each year and to support a local charity. This year, our members chose overwhelmingly to support Compton Hospice.”

A total of 76 swimmers took part in the swim at Central Baths and they swam a total of 135 miles in a couple of hours. The total raised for the hospice was £250.00, which was received by Sally Woods, community fundraiser at Compton Hospice, on 16th July at Central Baths.

Sally said “ We are delighted that the Swimming Club chose to support Compton Hospice and it is especially pleasing to see young people learning about and supporting the hospice and its work. Thank you to everyone involved in the organization of the event and those who took part and raised the money.”
