The Bell Inn Public House have just handed Compton Hospice a cheque for £400. The money was raised through various activities throughout June, ending with a yellow themed family fun day on 1st July 2007.

Sarah Baker, landlady of the pub, situated on Newport Road, Tong, organised a full days activities, which kicked off with a dog show, followed by The Crazy Creatures Reptile Road show. A tombola and raffle proved a big hit, with prizes ranging from bottles of wine to a holiday for four in Tenerife, all being donated by local businesses including Tesco, Netto and various pet shops. The afternoon was rounded off when over 100 balloons were released for the start of the Bell Inn Balloon Race. The winning card, which had travelled all the way to Finningley, Doncaster within two hours, arrived back just two days later.
