Workers Working Hard For Hospice

Goodyear’s in Wolverhampton have been long time supporters of Compton Hospice and the care that it provides.
Once again they have chosen to help the hospice by presenting two cheques totalling £1,500 on a recent visit by Cyril Barrett, Chairman from the Goodyear branch of the Transport & General Workers Union and John Cryer Political Advisor from the Union.
The presentation took place in front of one of the hospice’s new feature artworks that were commissioned during a recent refurbishment of the ward, paid for by a Department of Health grant. Cyril, who has visited the hospice to present cheques on a number of occasions, was very impressed by the changes on the ward. He commented on how welcoming and light the hospice now looked and thought that the changes helped to emphasise the ethos of the hospice, where people come to the hospice to learn to live with their illness and how the hospices priority is on patient care and putting patients first.
Suzanne Davies, Senior Fundraiser for the hospice said “we are so grateful for the support that Goodyear’s have given to the hospice over the years. Only two years ago they gave a huge donation of £41,500.00 which allowed us to replace our dilapidated lift for a new one, which is not only reliable but more patient friendly. There are many branches and clubs from Goodyear who assist us with fundraising, I would like to extend our thanks to them all.”
