Birmingham Midshires bank £60,000 for Compton

Managing Director Nigel Stockton recently marked the conclusion of Birmingham Midshires Charity of the Year partnership with Compton Hospice at their annual Atrium presentation. Karen Phillips, corporate fundraiser at the hospice, was invited along to be presented with a cheque for over £60,000.

Karen, who has attended many of the companies fundraising events during the year, made a brief speech to the staff. She spoke about how she had observed the unstinting dedication of the fundraising team and the enormous generosity of the employees.

Karen said: “This has been a difficult year for most people, and yet here we are with this enormous amount of money. Compton Hospice are very grateful for this fantastic opportunity to work in partnership with such a high profile local company.”

The money raised, which was matched funded by the HBOS Foundation, represents many staff fundraising activities and the annual Birmingham Midshires Ball which was held at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham. Staff have also taken part in various volunteering projects around the hospice.
