Barclays making a difference
- Barclays staff at the development site at the Hospice
Barclays Dudley Centre are now nearly half a year into their charity adoption of Compton Hospice. They have already raised a substantial amount of funds which Barclays Bank have matched with it's £ for £ scheme.
Barclays encourages it's employees to be as ‘hands on’ as possible and to get involved within the community, for this reason more than 20 members of staff have given up some of their weekend to renovate a piece of land within the grounds of Compton Hospice which will hopefully be more appealing to the eye as visitors enter the grounds.
Melanie Boyden, a member of the Barclays Charity Committee says: "At Barclays we are committed to communities and we are delighted to support Compton Hospice. This is a lovely example of staff working together to achieve something, which we hope will make a real and lasting difference."
Karen Bowyer, Corporate Fundraiser at Compton Hospice concludes: "It's wonderful working with Barclays Dudley Centre. Over the past five months the staff have been really enthusiastic to the cause and have already far exceeded all expectations. This latest project will make a real difference to the first visual impressions of the Hospice.”
