Compton Hospice wins £1,700 donation on casino tables
Compton Hospice turned up trumps with a donation of more than £1,700 from a casino evening organised by Barclay's Commercial Bank in Wolverhampton.
Barclay’s customer Bal Mehta from Bilston-based firm Salisbury Poultry nominated the Wolverhampton hospice for the donation after winning the most chips on the tables during the casino evening in December. Mr Mehta also won a bottle of champagne.
The money raised by players, who paid to play the casino tables, which was matched by Barclays, giving a total pot of £1,710 for the hospice.
“Our luck was certainly in on the tables for this night and we’re extremely grateful to Barclays Commercial for organising the event and for Bal Mehta for picking us,” said Sue Chance, head of fundraising at Compton Hospice.
