M6 Toll 'Drive for charity'
Tom Fanning, Chief Executive of Midland Expressway Limited, recently announced that the M6 Toll Hospice Partnership (Compton, Katharine House, St. Giles and Birmingham St.Mary's Hospices), RNIB (Royal National Institution for the Blind) and Leonard Cheshire Disability have been selected as its three nominated charities to work with them and the Air Ambulance for the next three year period.
Following the success of the last three year’s Drive for Charity events, which have raised in total over £488,000 for NSPCC, Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Wildlife Trusts, the event this year will be held on Saturday 10th May.
As in the past three years, the M6 Toll’s annual Drive for Charity day will gift an entire day’s net toll takings to three charities.
All the tolls paid by those who use the M6 Toll on Saturday 10th May will be distributed to the newly nominated local charities.
Tom Fanning, Chief Executive of MEL, said: “We are looking forward to working with our newly nominated charities for what promises to be an extremely enjoyable and successful 3 years.
The main aim is for us to work with our chosen charities to make the M6 Toll’s annual Drive for Charity a successful day and we hope our customers will give their continued support.”
Karen Bowyer, spokesperson for the M6 Toll hospice partnership said “Together, Compton, Katharine House, St. Giles and Birmingham St. Mary’s Hospices serve a population of more than three million people, offering free medical and support services to patients and families coping with a life-limiting illness.
Without the generosity of corporate partners, like M6 Toll, we simply couldn’t continue to provide this essential lifeline and we are immensely grateful for their support.”
