Ringing the changes for hospice
A Wolverhampton communications company has set tills ringing as well as new phones for local charity Compton Hospice.
Pearl Communications, of Berry Street, supplied on-call doctors, hospice at home nurses and other medical staff with Blackberrys to help them keep in touch with the hospice while working in the community.
To cement their relationship with the charity, they offered a £2,000 donation towards the hospice’s ‘Raise the Roof’ capital appeal which aims to raise £1million to see the in-patient unit transformed over the next 12 months.
Alan Bishop, Estates Manager at Compton Hospice, said: “The Blackberrys will make a real difference to operations of hospice staff working off-site. They will be able to email requests for prescriptions from the patient’s home making the process of issuing new medications much quicker.
“Pearl Communications have been a great support in setting up the new system and we’re really grateful to them for offering the extra financial support to our appeal.”
