Westbury helps raise funds for Compton Hospice
Thanks to one of the region’s largest house builders, Compton Hospice in Wolverhampton now has nearly £5450 to put towards continuing to provide care for the region’s terminally ill.
Westbury West Midlands raised the generous donation during its annual ball as part of its ongoing efforts to generate funds for the hospice.
Over 400 people attended the ball which was held at the National Motorcycle Museum. Entertainment included Linda Baker one of Westbury’s sales negotiators who dressed up as Britannia and performed a rendition of Rule Britannia.
A charity auction helped to swell the funds and saw signed gloves from Aston Villa’s goalkeeper and a plasma screen TV go under the hammer.
“In the West Midlands we wanted to donate to a charity that is close to our hearts and is recognised by our staff, contractors and suppliers as being something worthwhile within the region and needs our support,” explained Anita Williams, regional sales manager for Westbury West Midlands.
“Compton Hospice does such an important job in the region, providing care for up to 500 terminally ill people at one time that it was the perfect choice.
Karen Bowyer, head of corporate fundraising for Compton Hospice added:
“I would like to say a big thank you to Westbury West Midlands for this donation. Compton has been running for over 20 years and in that time we have treated in excess of 20,000 patients. This vital work couldn’t continue without the support of companies like Westbury.”
