The Wolverhampton City Gate depot of Wincanton for Argos got their Charity Adoption of Compton Hospice well on the move over the Christmas months and raised a massive £1,000 by holding various events and raffles.

The cheque was presented to Karen Bowyer, Corporate Fundraiser at Compton Hospice by Joanne Turner, the charity Champion at Wincanton, members of the Wincanton Social Club, who helped to raise the money and Pete Haskayne, the Operations Manager at the site.”

Karen commented: “It’s really encouraging to see the campaign get off to such a positive start. The staff at Wincanton are raring to go and have lots of activities coming up in the near future.

Joanne added: “It’s not difficult to get the staff behind the fundraising; Compton is such a good cause and knowing you are making such a contribution to patient care on an ongoing basis really helps to boost morale.”

The Charity adoption is part of the Argos campaign with Help The Hospices, which is a two year campaign where Argos and Wincanton will be raising money in a variety of ways for their local Hospice.
