Compton hospice patients to get Bhangra beat treat

Patients and staff at Wolverhamptons Compton hospice are to get a special musical treat, on Wednesday May 5, with a performance by traditional Bhangra musician Sohan Kailey.

Patients are sure to get their feet tapping to the traditional Indian music during the show with Sohan, from Wolverhampton based Aashiyana Arts, performing a range of solo drumming pieces dressed in full Bhangra costume.

“It’ll be a lot of fun for the patients and staff and they will really get involved with lots of hand clapping. It’s a chance to get to know a bit about Bhangra dance as well as a slice of Indian culture,” said Sohan Kailey.

Sue Chance, head of fundraising at Compton Hospice, said: “This will be something different for patients but is sure to be uplifting and colourful for everyone in the day unit.”
