Open Day for Bereavement Support Volunteers
Compton Hospice is providing an opportunity to hear about a really valuable way of volunteering.
The Bereavement Service at the hospice is recruiting for new volunteers for its busy and committed team of volunteer support workers.
An Open Day is being held at the hospice on Wednesday 1st February. The doors are open from 3.00 p.m. until 8.00 p.m. and people who might be interested are welcome to drop-in between those hours.
There will be an opportunity to talk to members of the team who visit bereaved people in their homes and also at the hospice.
Details of what is entailed in the training and preparation for this specialised work will be available.
It is not necessary to have any counselling qualifications though the emphasis is on listening skills, and it would be good to have firsthand experience of a past personal bereavement.
For information contact Dee Elcock on 0845 2255 497, or simply drop in at the hospice for an informal chat.
If you have any further questions about Compton Hospice and General, please call 0845 225 5497 or contact us. We will do our utmost to help with your enquiry.
