Compton Wins National Charity Shop Awards
At the National Association of Charity Shops Annual Conference held at Keele University on July 4th and 5th, Compton Hospice won two national awards. Firstly, the Award for the Highest Average Profit Per Shop for 2005, and secondly, awarded to Comptons’ Womboune Shop, the Award for the Shop Team of the Year 2005. The Awards were presented by Helen Lederer, famous for her time at the Comedy Store. The awards are a great honour as they recognize key achievements and performance in charity retailing across the whole of the sector which includes charities as large as Oxfam, Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation through the medium sized charities such as Sense and YMCA, to the smaller Hospice charity shop operations.
