Chaplaincy

Offering spiritual support in your time of need

Coming to terms with your, or your loved one’s illness can be a difficult process. You may struggle with how your life is changing as a result, or question why this is happening to you.

Our chaplaincy team are here to offer care and support, to help you face the challenges ahead.

Whether you need a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, someone to sit with in silence, or to say a prayer - they can be there for you.

The Santuary is open throughout the day offering an oasis of calm and peace for prayer or quiet reflection.  You are welcome to drop in for ‘time out’ or to light a candle, or even to attend one of our daily reflective services.

We offer a monthly ‘Cherished Memories’ service, a memorial event where we remember by name the recently departed.  Candles are lit and flowers are offered to the bereaved, the service is open to people of all faiths, or of none.

We also offer an annual ‘Love Never Dies’ memorial service which is open to all who have been bereaved over the past twelve months.

Our chaplaincy team can also arrange special services for anniversaries, renewing of wedding vows, personal prayers and baptisms. They have even been the key to our very successful hospice choir.

Support for all

We recognise and respect that there is huge diversity in beliefs, and that some people do not follow a religion, but we will always try and help - providing support however we can. We can put you in touch with leaders of different faiths, or just be a friend when you need one most.

Spiritual care can be offered on the ward, in the community or at your own home.

If you have any further questions about Compton Hospice and Services/Medical, please call 0845 225 5497 or contact us. We will do our utmost to help with your enquiry.
