Chaplaincy

Offering spiritual support in your time of need

Coming to terms with your, or your loved one’s illness can be a difficult process. You may struggle with how your life is changing as a result, or question why this is happening to you.

The chaplaincy team are here to offer care and support, to help you face the challenges ahead.

Whether you need a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, someone to sit with in silence, or to say a prayer - they can be there for you.

Support for all

We recognise and respect that there is huge diversity in beliefs, and that some people do not follow a religion, but we will always try and help - providing support however we can.

We can put you in touch with leaders of different faiths, or just be a friend when you need one most.

Chapel services

Everyone is very welcome to attend our Christian services in the hospice Chapel, held Tuesday to Friday at 11.45am.

Chapel services

We can also help you arrange special services for you and your family, like weddings, baptisms, blessings or the renewal of marriage vows.

There may be occasions when we change service times, but we will do our best to keep you informed of any changes to the programme.

Bedside services

Bedside service

We understand it’s not always possible to come to the Chapel, so we also offer our services at the bedside in the hospice, including prayer, the laying on of hands, anointing and Holy Communion.

Come and talk to us

If you would like to meet with one of us and discuss any of your needs or concerns, please mention it to us on one of our regular visits around the wards, or ask a member of staff to contact us for you.

Whilst we cannot offer a 24-hour service, members of the chaplaincy team are in the hospice most days.

If you have any further questions about Compton Hospice and Services/Medical, please call 0845 225 5497 or contact us. We will do our utmost to help with your enquiry.
