Jurassic Coast Challenge
15th– 17th September 2017

This challenging trek journeys along the tough yet magnificent Jurassic Coast; England's first natural World Heritage Site. It’s a stimulating hike with lots of climbs to test your legs and stamina.

What does the challenge involve?

You’ll trek 25 miles over two days starting out from the idyllic town of Swanage taking in stunning views of sweeping bays and folded cliffs whilst passing through Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door before reaching your final destination of Weymouth.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Meet at the campsite near Swanage in the evening followed by a meal in a local pub and event briefing. To get here you can travel by train to Wareham and transfer by local public transport or for a special start you may even be able to get the steam railway.

Day 2 - Trekking from Swanage to Lulworth (approx. 24km or 15 miles). Start out from the idyllic town of Swanage. The route will follow the length of the pebble beach, rejoining the coastline on the longer of the two days. Expect a good number of hills along this stretch of coastline. Stay in a campsite in Lulworth for the night.

Day 3 - You will start out from your overnight location in Lulworth. Pass the iconic arch at Durdle Door, the route will follow the South West Coastal Path which stretches over 1000km from Minehead to Poole. Walk on to your final destination of Weymouth. (Total distance approx. 16km).

After the event you may wish to remain in Weymouth, but your leader will show you to the train station and the support vehicle will deliver your luggage for you to Weymouth.
