Our Appeal

Sunflowers in Bloom  - Spring Appeal 2017

Following on from the success of our 2016 Sea of Sunflowers appeal which saw over £40,000 raised towards delivering patient care at Compton Hospice, we are delighted to introduce our initiative for 2017 – Sunflowers in Bloom.

Last year a sea of golden replica sunflowers adorned the lawns of Compton Hospice for patients, visitors and supporters to see. This Spring a similar display will be constructed featuring striking blue sunflower sculptures.

The appeal will see hundreds of sky blue flowers cover the lawns of our hospice grounds between 3rd and 24th July. The sculptures will be placed so that patients spending time on our Inpatient Unit as well as those visiting our Woods Therapy Day Centre and Outpatient clinic will be able to admire them as they glisten in the sunshine.

As part of the appeal we kindly ask you to consider sponsoring or purchasing a sunflower. Whether it’s participating in memory of a loved one or simply adding to your growing sunflower collection, your donation will enable us to fund quality and dignified care for families in need.

The Sunflowers are made of wrought iron and stand at just under one metre tall. The petals are sky blue in colour and the central seeds are made of cracked glass which will reflect particles of sunlight as they sway gently in the breeze. The sunflower figures are exclusively available to Compton Hospice and are not available to buy in stores or garden centres.

For a donation of your choosing you will be able to sponsor a sunflower to stand in the grounds for the duration of our display.

By purchasing a sunflower you will be able to take away a sunflower as a beautiful keepsake for your garden. The cost for purchasing a sunflower is £20 if collecting or £25 if you require delivery.
