Colourful fun in aid of Compton

Hundreds of runners were covered in all the colours of the rainbow at the weekend in aid of Compton.
The Compton Colour Blast 5k saw over 700 run, walk, skip and jog three laps around Wolverhampton’s West Park whilst being blasted with an array of coloured powder at various intervals along the route.
Afterwards everyone gathered in the colour blast arena where they were given sachets of powder paint to thrown at each other and into the air. The crowd were engulfed in a multi coloured cloud as they happily danced to music
So far a total of £17,856 has been raised from the event which will fund the equivalent of 86 sessions in the hospice’s Woods Therapy Day Centre where patients receive care, support and various therapies and services such as pain and symptom control, relaxation therapies and confidence building.
Event Organiser Dawn Smith said: “It was fantastic to see so many people support Compton and take part in our Colour Blast this year.
“We were the first to bring this type of event to Wolverhampton and we are pleased that people are continuing to support us in our 35th year. Everyone who took part has raised money to help us fund quality care for patients who have been diagnosed with an incurable illness, and their families and we are so incredibly grateful.”Subscribe to our news feed
