Generous Joe pays Compton a visit

Posted on 28 June 2017.

This is 82 year old Joe Hagland

Two years ago Joe travelled 135 miles from his home in Islington North London to Compton Hospice in Wolverhampton to hand deliver a donation of £100.

A year later, he did the same. And today we were delighted to welcome him back once again.

Joe was first inspired to donate after seeing a Crimewatch broadcast appealing for information after thieves caused £20k worth of damage to our hospice facilities. Moved by the news, he wanted to do something to help. And he has continued to show his support for Compton and the work we do every year since.

The kindness and generosity that Joe displays is heartwarming. Not only has he made a financial contribution to Compton, but with every visit he takes the time to talk with our patients, the volunteers and staff. He greets everyone with kindness, warmth and always makes us smile.

So just remember....."When what’s going on in the world makes you feel a little low, remember there are people like Generous Joe." #GenerousJoe
