Hospice Care Week: 9th - 15th October

This week marks Hospice Care Week - a national campaign which aims to raise awareness of the importance of hospice care across the UK. Each year Compton holds a week of celebration and action, which helps to change people’s perceptions of hospice care.

This year’s theme, ‘We are Hospice Care’ gives us the opportunity to show the many faces of hospice care. From nurses to volunteers, patients to fundraisers, family members to laundry assistants, we will be sharing stories and pictures from those we support and those who work hard behind the scenes to help make this unique form of care happen.

Compton has served the community of Wolverhampton, parts of the Black Country, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire 35 years. In that time we are estimated to have supported over 35,000 patients and families affected by incurable illnesses.

During Hospice Care Week we want to proudly acknowledge the fantastic work of our staff and volunteers, and help give people a better understanding of the important work we do.

Throughout the week we will be sharing stories and pictures across our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages so please take a look to find out more about the work of Compton. Alternatively if you would like to get involved with the work of the hospice or become part of the Compton family please call 0845 225 5497.
