HRH The Duke of Gloucester Visits Compton Hospice

Posted on 29 March 2017.

We were delighted to welcome HRH The Duke of Gloucester to the hospice yesterday to join in our 35th Anniversary celebrations.

The Duke was greeted by staff and patients waving 35th Anniversary flags as he made his way into the hospice for a tour of our Woods Day Therapy Centre and Inpatient Unit.

The Duke, who is a grandson of George V and a first cousin to The Queen, spoke with many of our patients, family members, volunteers and staff before cutting a special 35th Anniversary cake created especially for the visit by Codsall Cupcakes

Compton Hospice Chief Executive Claire Marshall said: “It is an absolute honour to welcome HRH The Duke of Gloucester to the hospice during our 35th Anniversary year and it has been a very memorable and special occasion for all of our staff, patients and volunteers.”

Thank you to HRH for joining in our celebrations. Be sure to tune into Made in Birmingham TV at 6pm and 9pm tonight for a full report of the visit.
